Member of Parliament for Techiman South in the Bono East region who double as the Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Hon Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah has called on the Inspector General of Police to beef up the status of policing in Techiman.
According to him, Techiman as a capital and the Bono East region at large needs a form of specialized and focused policing looking at the increasing criminal activities in the region.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kwame Boakye on Monday, August 23, 2021 on Oman Nkomo, the hottest political show in the region; Adjei-Mensah Korsah stated that, the attitude of some police officers in their quest to protect lives and properties seem unprofessional and embarrassing.
He stated that, some officers have developed interest in harassing taxi drivers than tackling criminals who have been attacking residents which he termed as very worrying.
He revealed that he has teamed up with the police to ensure such criminal activities will end to ensure the safety of the residents.
How to Tackle Crime
To help fight the activities of criminals, Hon. Korsah said his outfit has begun fixing all the dysfunctioning street lights and is cautioning those criminals to desist from such activities as the police is coming after them.
