The Member Parliament for Techiman South Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah has waded into the argument on the need for all Ghanaians to vehemently kick against the LGBTQ+ agenda.
According to him, such an act should be condemned by all and not be e entertained for a minute at any level in the country.
” I am against it. it’s a devilish act and i cannot entertain it for one minute.”
Declaring his stance against the practice in an interview on Radio Link’s late afternoon political talk show “Oman Nkommo” with Kwame Boakye, the Techiman South legislator rallied the support of all including the clergy to
“I am completely against it. We have to stand for this country. We need to protect our children, our family and jealously guard against certain culture that will deplete our societal fiber and worsen the plight of the future generation” he noted.
The Proper Human Sexual and Ghanaian Family Bill drafted by eight legislators, was officially laid before Parliament on Monday, August 2.
According to the MP, the fight against the LGBTQ+ has a very huge support and majority of Ghanaians are also against it.
“This is the time for everyone to stand up and kick against the LGBQT+ to make a very bold statement to the rest of the world.”
The discussion as to whether the 36-page bill indeed seeks to infringe on the human rights of citizens as well as silence free speech has been ongoing since Thursday, July 22.
After 21 days of public gazetting, the anti-LGBTQ+ Bill to outlaw the involvement, promotion, propagation, advocacy, support or funding for its related activities, will finally be brought before the House for deliberation.
The MP, who is also the Deputy Minister-designate for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development believes, the nation should be firm on the bill and showcase to the entire world that such act is alien and has no place in Ghanaian culture.
