The Techiman South National Health Insurance Authority’s’ MIS Officer, Mr. Seth Amponsah, has revealed that his outfit in the last six months of operations chalked some massive successes.

According to him, NHIA runs quarterly reviews to assess their progress in terms of new member’s registration and other services such as the utilization of the online renewal platforms to ascertain if they are on track.

“The Techiman South NHIA in the last six months, have registered over 13,000 new beneficiaries to the scheme while some 75,000 beneficiaries are making good use of the online platform to renew the National Health Insurance card.”

“This means over 88,000 people have been working with us in the last six months which clearly indicates that, we are on track debunking assertion that the National Health Insurance Policy is no more working”.

Mr. Amponsah made this known to Link News on the sidelines of a stakeholders meeting with service providers in the Municipality in Techiman.

He further disclosed that, publicity is one of the major challenges they are facing since most people don’t really value the National Health Insurance Policy.

Addressing the issue of some service providers charging beneficiaries of additional money at their various health facilities, Mr. Amponsah urged such beneficiaries who fall victims to such practices to try their possible best to get some sort of evidence to back their complaints so that they at the NHIA will take the necessary steps against such a person when found culpable.
