The Techiman District Police command have impounded about 89 motorbike riders and four tricycle riders in a special operations in the Techiman Municipality to clamp down on criminal activities.
The District Police Commander, DSP Emmanuel Ofori who led this operation disclosed to the media after the swoop.
According to him, the command has in the past received lots of complaints by residents about the activities of these motor riders with some involved in all sort of robbery attacks.
“This operations is to tone down the activities of such persons in our area.”
DSP Ofori gave the breakdown of the motorcycle impounded by the police which is 89 motorbikes and 4 tricycle.
Adding that, persons were arrested for offences such as riding without license and fake document.
He said, most of the motorbikes impounded have not been registered and the police is collaborating with the DVLA to ensure the right thing is been done.
DSP Ofori cautioned that all those who will be found at wrong side of the law after their exercise shall be made to face the law.
