Following the Finance Ministers appeal to Ghanaians to support the construction of the National Cathedral, targeted to be commissioned on March 6, 2022 with the support of GHc100 a month, some residents in Techiman, Bono East Regional Capital have expressed mixed feeling this call.

Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, yesterday while presenting the 2021 Mid-Year review Budget Statement and Economic Policy on Thursday urged all Ghanaians, including Members of Parliament, to be part in supporting the initiative dubbed, “Ketewa biafra nsua” with GHS100 a month.

He noted Ghanaians could support the course by dialling the short code *979#.

But residents in Techiman speaking to Nana Ama Serwaah Ampomah expressed some mixed reactions with some agreeing to the government’s call saying it is a way of supporting Gods work while others think the call is misplaced one.

Some also called on the government to drop such an idea saying; the government should rather look at raising revenues to improve the health and education sectors as well as providing Ghanaians with good roads and other social amenities.
