Residents of Bonsu in the Nkoranza South District in the Bono East Region have attributed the high rates of deaths and accidents to the poor road network in and around the area.
According to them the main road linking Techiman to Nkoranza is one of the worst roads in the country causing accident, death and robbery attacks.
Speaking with Link News, some of the residents hinted that they will not vote in the near future since their roads promised by the successive governments still remain untouched and pledge to seize any government officials who uses the road.
The Assembly Member for Bonsu Electoral Area Evans Owusu Serebour urged the Member of Parliament and the District Chief Executive in the area to come fix road which is causing a lot of havoc to residents.
Speaking in an interview with Link News’ Reporter Kwadwo Mmerepa, Owusu Serebuor disclosed that the poor road is causing a lot of death and which as a result is also bring less development to the area.
Meanwhile, the chief Dotobaa, Nana Gyasi Gyabaah said the amount of revenue generated by the assembly from Dotobaa is huge so they deserve better. Adding it’s been over decades which successive governments and the assembly make promises to them but tends not to abide by their words.
Speaking with Link News, Nana Gyasi Gyabaah said government should come to their aid since the youth and other stake holders who are into farming are losing due to poor roads in the district.
