Four communities namely Bomene, Woraso, Atabuoso and Panhosu all within the Techiman South constituency in the Bono East Region were full of happiness and joy when the mechanised borehole water projects in their respective communities were officially commissioned over the weekend.

The smiles and the noise from the people as soon as the water started flowing clearly shows the extent to which the people appreciated the project donated by Hon. Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, Member of Parliament for Techiman South.

This projects, according to the MP is to provide potable water for the residents.

In a short remarks, Hon. Adjei Mensah Korsah explained that water is one of the basic needs for the survival of mankind hence his determination and sacrifices to provide quality water for his constituents.

“During my campaign, one of the major challenges which got my attention was the lack of portable water in these communities. Some even walk for miles before getting access to water.”

According to him, he had promised to provide 17 mechanised borehole water for seventeen communities and we are here to commission four out of the seventeen.

“This is just for the first phase and we are looking at adding another fifty for the second phase to the seventeen as promised.”

Hon. Adjei Mensah Korsah noted that though the cost is high, however once he had promised he would work to deliver all the seventeen before the end of his first term as a Member of Parliament for the constituency.

He further indicated that construction of the project at four communities have reached advance stages and hopefully commission would take place in April this year.

Nana Kwaku Antwi, Chief of Atabourso thanked the MP for his kind gesture of providing the communities with quality drinking water.

Nana Kwaku Antwi noted that water is life hence anyone who provides water should be seen as one who cares for life.

Nana further advised Hon. Obeng-Boateng to continue living in the humble and respecful ways he had been living in the past that created more affection and love towards him.
