The Techiman Municipal Chief Executive John Kofi Donyina in collaboration with the MP for Techiman South Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah has donated 1,150 mono desk to the Education Directorate in the Municipality.
The mono desk is to help students in effective learning and also stop the spread of the novel coronavirus in the municipality and the region as a whole.
According to him the Education Director John Kojo Amissah prompted to his office the furniture deficit the school is facing hence the donation.
To him, the school needed about 4,000 pieces and 180 out of the needed numbers were handed over to the school weeks ago.
Among the 1,150 desks, Techiman Senior High School will have 700 pieces out of it to deal with the deficit challenge and to pave way for about 900 newly admitted first year students for effective academics.
He cautioned the administration to practice culture of maintenance for the donated desks to last longer.
Municipal Education Director, John Kojo Amissah who received the desk showed his gratitude to the MCE calling on other stakeholders and individuals to support build quality education in the municipality.
The Assistant Headmaster of Academics for Techiman Senior High school John Bismark Tawiah applauded efforts of the MCE and MP saying theie donation came at the right.
He therefore pleaded with other stakeholders to come to their aid and support them with sdining hall tables and chairs as most of the tables and chairs recently in use are not in good state since mostly they are been dragged out whenever the hall is needed for a different programme.
