The Bono East National Ambulance service is calling on government to come to the aid of the Ambulance Service with a permanent office facilities as well as provide them with adequate personnel to enhance the service render effective service to the public.
According to the Bono East Regional Administrative Manager, Mr Micheal Kwasi Badu, the creation of new Bono East region came without a permanent office facility for the service.
“Currently what we are occupying is a temporal small office from which we operate from as a Regional Body rented.”
Speaking exclusively to Nana Ama Ampomah of Radio Link, Mr. Badu explained that, all the District offices of the Ambulance Service in the Bono East Region are temporal.
Commenting on the current situation of the Nkoranza North and South Ambulance Service, Mr. Badu commended the two Districts saying they have really done well.
“Nkoranza South has put up its’ own building and now done with the roofing…. As for Nkoranza North, a man called Nana Nyarko has promised the service with a complete building. With the Regional Secretariat, having the RCC also giving them a plot land for the construction of permanent office, but I know government will intervene.”
He further bemoaned the lack of personnel for the Service in the Bono East Region stating that, some stations even have only three or four personnel with only one driver sometimes on duty making it difficult for these drivers to have enough time to rest.
Mr. Kwasi Badu in his concluding statement noted that that, every service rendered by the Ambulance Service within the region is for free and therefore advised the public to not hesitate in calling the service whenever there is the need to do so. 112 is the direct call to their Head Office in Accra which will be redirected to us here in Bono East. But for us in the Bono East we operate on 0595208413/0507308600/0299376107.
