Over ten (10) Level 200 students of Atebubu College of Education (ATECO) have been dismissed from the college over poor academic performance.
The Principal of Atebubu College of Education, Dr. Samuel-Addae Boateng who confirmed this to Radio Link’s Atebubu correspondent, Kwabena Manu, stated that the students were not able to get the grade point average in their previous exams after they were even given a chance to write their various re-sits and as a result the school authority decided that they students can’t continue to be part of the College.
He noted that, the College is affiliated to University of Cape Coast (UCC) which also have it’s own standard pass mark for students.
Dr. Samuel-Addae Boateng however used the opportunity appealed to the government, NGO’S, and old students of the school to come to the aid of the college.
He noted that the College is having poor road network, poor lighting system, water challenges, lack of teacher’s bungalows, lack of boy’s dormitories therefore “will need the support of philanthropists and the government to deal with the current situation.”
