It was a game of redemption for C.K. Akonnor and his men when they clashed with Qatar on Monday and beat them 5-1 in Antalya, Turkey.

Qatar looked threatening from the onset of the game as they kept pushing the ball forward towards the half of the Black Stars and even managed to get a few shots on goal.

They would have taken the lead if not for the goal post.

Ghana took charge of the game eventually and terrorized the defence of the Maroons.

Tarique Fosu scored his first Black Stars goal in the first quarter of the game to give Ghana the lead.

However, his goal was cancelled out in the dying minutes of the first half by Amoela Ali.

The second half was full of energy right from the start as Ghana kept pushing to double the lead.

Their hard work paid off when Andre Ayew doubled the lead in the 63rd minute of the game through a Thomas Partey assist.

One man who was trouble for the Maroons was Samuel Owusu.

He dazzled with the ball at his feet and finally got his goal when Thomas Partey crossed the ball directly from the midfield.

It was not all over yet for Andre Ayew. His brother, Jordan Ayew, made sure of that when he crossed the ball from the corner and Andre headed it into the net.

The fifth goal was also a header by Caleb Ekuban.

The man who will celebrate this victory like no other will be Ghana coach, C.K. Akonnor, and this is because, he has won his first Black Stars game.

This is the last friendly game before the Black Stars play a double header with Sudan in the AFCON Qualifiers.
