The President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has presented a cheque of  GHC30,000.00 to pay for the surgery and other expenses covering the medical needs of 9 months old Emmanuella Morkeh.

This is in fulfilment of his assurance made during his visit to the Bono East region after a petition was made to him to assist in saving the life of little Emmualla Morkeh.

The mother Juliana Amponsah in her earlier interview with Radio Link reporter Afia Aboagyewaa stated that, the daughter was diagnosed of having an extensive swelling eye which has involved both upper and lower eyelids and the eye ball displaced downwards and inwards [inferomedially] from birth.

She said the cost which the doctors at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) are requesting for the surgery and other expenses amounts to GHC30,000.00 which is unbearable for her and the father of the child who is a labourer therefore leading her to appeal for public support.

She said, her family has shown no concern in the health needs of the daughter from the onset making life unbearable.

Currently little Emmanuella is undergoing review by the Craniofacial Team at Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital in Kumasi.

Presenting the cheque of the stated amount to the mother, Juliana Amponsah on Friday, September 18, 2020, the 1st Vice Chairman for the New Patriotic Party [NPP] in Techiman South Constituency, Mr. Seth Assah Adjei said, the President has fulfilled  his promised by paying all additional bills which will be charge after the surgery.

“A delegation of party executive including the parents will on Wednesday 23rd September, 2020 take the 9 months old baby [Emmanuella Morkeh] to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to pay the required amount to pave way for little Morkeh’s surgery to commence.

The mother, Juliana Amponsah expressed her gratitude to the President of the Republic, the Deputy Minister of Regional Reorganization Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah and staff of Radio Link in Techiman for bringing relief to her.
