Gyaasehene for Atebubu in the Bono East Region Nana Osei Gyan Ababio has appealed to President Akufo-Addo to help the people of Atebubu with a portable drinking.
Atebubu is a farming community in the Bono East region with an estimated population of over 80,000. Access to good and clean water has been a big challenge to residents of this community.
Nana Osei Ababio who believes President Nana Addo is a listening and fulfilling individual is however optimistic that their request will be resolved in no time.
Nana Gyaasehene made this appealed at a durbar of Chiefs and people of Atebubu during the President 2-day working visit to the Bono East region.
Nana Osei Gyan revealed that aside the water challenge, they are also in need of a hospital since those that are currently operating there are clinics which can’t match that of the hospital standards not to talk of accommodating the large population in the area.
“If possible, we are appealing to the President and the Bono East region to consider the construction of the Bono East Regional Hospital in Atebubu. By doing so, it will improve quality of health care service in this area.”
The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources Hon. Cecilia Abenaa Dapaa pledged government’s commitment to provide a water treatment plant to the area. “Very soon the President will be back to cut the sod for the commencement of that project.”
