The Former District Chief Executive for Kintampo South in the Bono East Region, Hon. Kwadwo Nyame Dateakwa has cautioned the National Democratic Congress [NDC] in the region not to cause chaos to disrupt the peace and tranquility they have in the constituency.
According to him, he contesting as an independent parliamentary candidate does not pave way for the NDC to mar and cause disunity. He said this in an interview with Agya Wusu on Link Agoo AM Show in Techiman. Hon. Dateakwa stressed that moves by the NDC to force him to rescind his decision won’t manifest as he is not backing out of the race to contest independently.
The Bono East Region NDC by their party’s regulations dismissed Hon. Dateakwa from the party due to a move by the former DCE to contest as an independent Parliamentary Candidate in the 2020 elections after he lost the primaries in the constituency. According to the party, the former DCE can’t contest as an independent candidate and still be member of the party.
The former DCE according the NDC regional chairman and regional secretary have been contacted severally by both National Executives and the Local Executives but still hold on to his words therefore their decision to exclude him. The Regional Secretary, Samshudeen Ali Mohammed has warned Hon. Dateakwa not to cross their line else he would be crashed.
But in responding to that comment by the Regional Secretary, Hon. Dateakwa said the words of the regional secretary is a treat and must be weary of it.
He however, refuted allegations by the party that he has taken money from the New Patriotic Party [NPP] to repay his losses during their parliamentary primaries. Describing those assertions as ‘lies.’
