The District Chief Executive for Techiman North in the Bono East Region, Peter Mensah has stated that the political affiliation of one shouldn’t be based on a color or symbol but rather the infrastructural development of the party.
According to him, the administration which can help bring development that will affect or improve lives of a citizen is the party which should be supported.
He made this call during a sod-cutting ceremony to commence the building of a 400 bed capacity Girls dormitory for Guakro Effah Senior High School and a 10 capacity toilet for Zongo residents in Ofuman in the Techiman North District.
Mr. Mensah commenting on the developmental projects of the current administration described it as ‘massive,’ saying he is ready to lead opposition political parties to pinpoint the projects of the current administration. Adding that the project forms part of governments infrastructural developmental for the district.
He emphasized that the construction of the solar panel toilet is a component of the One Million Dollar per Constituency promise made by the NPP government in the run-up to the 2016. He therefore appealed to the contractor to employ the youth in the community as part of its labour force.
Present at the ceremony was the Member of Parliament for Techiman North constituency, Hon. Martin Oti Gyarko. Also speaking at the sod-cutting, Hon. Oti Gyarko said the construction of the 400 capacity bed girl’s dormitory will elevate the school from its current status of a day school to a boarding facility. “The President’s ambition is for all school growing age to attain quality education; and currently that’s what this government seeks to do as we continue to support the people with what is due them.”
Techiman North Director of Education, Mad. Theresa Kpebu expressed appreciation to the government for attending to their call.
