A man believed to be in his late twenties has been shot dead at Abourso, a suburb of Techiman in the Bono East Region.
Jacob Quaicoo, the deceased who is a mobile money vendor according to eye witnesses was seen chased by two unidentified persons perceived to be in their early twenties with a pump action gun on a motor bike after work on Thursday evening around 8: 45pm.
Link New’s Nana Ama Yeboah who has been following the development and has been interacting with residents of the town reports the incident has led to uneasy calm among the residents and fear has grip most of them.
One of the witnesses who was close to the scene narrating the ordeal to Agya Wusu on Link Agoo AM Show, said the deceased was ready to move his motorcycle parked close to his container after close of work, when the two persons approached him.
He tried escaping to a nearby house but the assassins followed him there, where they shot him in the knee weakening him and further shot his throat.
Another man whom the deceased wanted to run and take cover in his house also added that he attempted to move out after hearing gunshots but the assassins pointed a gun at him which scared him to lie down and craw to his room for cover.
He hinted that the deceased [Jacob Quaicoo] has been complaining of fraudsters trying to dupe him several times but was smart to deal with the situation. A third account has it that, the assassins were seen shooting sporadically till they fled from the location.
As to what led to the shooting yesterday can’t be ascertain but his bag which contained undisclosed amount was taken away by the assassins after the incident.
Currently the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Holy Family Hospital Morgue in Techiman awaiting autopsy whiles the police begins investigation.
